Hey all,
Does anyone know if there is a way to read a document with a braille display, without converting it to braille first? I thought there was but now I'm not sure.
What do you mean?
All screen readers (well, Jaws, WindowEyes at lest Super Nova too I believe) have brraille display drivers, you can read anything in braille that you can get through speech (well 99.9% some buttons or extra info such as the error info in vs.net is not displayed in braille) so, yes, no need to convert anything to braille in order to read it on a display.
as b said above, if you have a braille display installed on with jaws, then you should just be able to read the document as it comes.
If you're asking about Grade II, your screen reader should have automatic Braille translation. Go into the configuration manager in JAWS or the Braille Options in Window-Eyes and check the box for Grade II. Most displays also have a command you can type, like g, to turn translation on temporarily.
